Tech Art - Motion Tracker

This is an Alien Isolation Tech Art Fan piece, I love the craft and the detail in the game. I wanted to try and recreate a functional Motion Tracker in Unreal Engine 5. The Tracker detects Manny and UEFN characters and projects their coordinates onto the Motion Trackers screen in Unreal. This was done using a combination of Blueprint, Textures, Materials and Animation Template characters. The screen is broken down into several material functions that replicate effects such as the trackers compass, pulsing enemy blip, screen on/off, vignette, screen glitches etc.

The Motion Tracker prop itself was built many moons ago as a fan art piece to discuss Substance Painter workflows with students.

It was built with 3ds Max, Substance Painter and Photoshop. The prop is approximately 15k triangles with 1 texture map.
